Mr B and Blondie go on holiday

This is my very first blog so be kind to me!

I started my own business from home in July this year and the very first thing that I decided to do ... get the priorities right I thought ... was get a companion as I felt I might get lonely.

Now this proved to be a very interesting proposition as we have two dogs who are extremely scatty; they love and hate each other to death! They sleep in each other's beds but fight to the death when given half a chance .... I put it down to 30 neurofen tablets that one of them took and the other, well being so low on the ground gave him a chill from birth! So, basically, the option of getting a third was out of the question. We then had a very short discussion about guinea pigs and cats!

Then by chance, entering a jewellery shop (you may well question this), I saw this wonderful tank hanging on the wall like a picture ... and my problem was solved! I rushed out and bought my pets ... one big and black fish and the other a small and delicate gold fish which go by the names of Mr B and Blondie!

I didn't realise how much care and attention had to be given to fish ... we started with oxygenated water ... que?!! For the past umpteen years I have been brought up with fish that you buy at a fair, put in a plastic sack and take home. Oh, no, not anymore! They have to have the right water and temperature, the right food ... not too big, not too small and not too much by all accounts ... and so the saga goes on.

Then, you have to make their surroundings pleasurable ... first we tried gravel and couldn't understand why the water was so murky ... until we found out that our friend's 16 year old son had inserted the gravel he had picked up from the gravel pit where he had been fishing!

So in accordance with the colours of my business, I bought blue gravel which Mr B and Blondie didn't approve of at all. In fact I was getting rather worried about the dye especially when Mr B started turning a shade of Mr Blue!

So back to the drawing board ... we now have very content rock fish ... we were getting along quite fine with the odd "plop" here and there until we decided to go on holiday!
